United Way Announces Immediate Grant Opportunities

2017 United Way Community Support Grant Applications Now Available

(Jefferson City, MO, February 23, 2017) To be responsive to the growing needs in our community, the United Way of Central Missouri is pleased to offer one-time grants to area health and human service agencies, effective immediately. The United Way of Central Missouri Board of Directors approved up to $80,000 for the 2017 United Way Community Support Grants.

Grants are open to nonprofit health and human service agencies in the United Way of Central Missouri service area. Grants must be utilized to further the mission of the United Way to help local people in need and provide community solutions; and address a need in the area of food, shelter, education, employment, health or transportation. Grants must have measurable program outcomes and serve Central Missouri communities in part or all of Cole, Moniteau, Osage, Miller, Morgan, Camden and southern Callaway counties. Applying agencies must have been in operation for two or more years.

“It is with thanks to the incredible generosity of our community that we were able to surpass our 2016 campaign goal and have the opportunity to provide this vital support in the form of one-time grants to area agencies to address critical, unmet needs in Central Missouri,” said Mike Hoelscher, United Way of Central Missouri Board Chairman.

“The United Way of Central Missouri is proud to play a small role in the difference local health and human service agencies are making in our community through Community Support Grants,” said Ann Bax, United Way of Central Missouri President/CPO. “In addition to the $80,000 in grant funding, the United Way of Central Missouri will provide $1.342 million in funding support to its 28 partner agencies in 2017.”
