About: Mentoring organization that provides a one-to-one match with adult volunteers and children ages 6-14, primarily from single-parent homes. Offers community-based and school/site-based match opportunities.

Capital City CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)
About: Advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the 19th Judicial Circuit of Cole County based on the firm belief that children are entitled to a safe and permanent home environment.  This is accomplished through trained and dedicated volunteers who are assigned to specific cases and, in cooperation with the Juvenile Court, key agencies, legal counsel and community resources.

Common Ground Community Building
About: A community service agency dedicated to helping neighbors in the Jefferson City area reach their full potential. What started as a small ministry of churches in downtown Jefferson City has grown into a vital community partner offering solutions surrounding homelessness and homelessness prevention.

About: Helps girls ages 5-17 develop confidence and leadership skills while discovering fun, friendship, and the power of girls together.

Homemaker Health Care
About: Loans equipment such as hospital beds, bedside toilets, wheelchairs, and shower benches to individuals struggling to live independently in their own homes at no cost. Homemaker Health Care also loans The Caring Chair--a lifting recliner--to breast cancer patients recovering from a mastectomy or double mastectomy surgery to help those individuals recover from surgery.

Jefferson City Area YMCA Child Development Center
About: Provides education and care for children ages birth to five. Assists children in four developmental areas: social, emotional, cognitive and physical.

Little Explorers Discovery Center (Formerly Jefferson City Day Care Center)
About: Day care center licensed for 99 children ages birth to 10. Has sliding fee scale and accredited early childhood education program.

Rape and Abuse Crisis Service (RACS)
About: Provides shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families. Services include a 24-hour hotline, counseling, support groups, advocacy and referrals.

The Salvation Army
Provides assistance to low-income individuals and families in crisis. Operates homeless shelter and offers emergency food, clothing, medicine, rent and utility assistance, as well as character-building programs for youth and adults, counseling and referrals. Also provides seasonal assistance at Christmas, visits to individuals in nursing homes, and distributes school supplies to needy children.

Senior Nutrition Council
About: Provides nutritionally-balanced meals to homebound adults ages 60 or older and offers congregate meals are specific sites.

Special Learning Center

SingleCare Prescription Drug Program
About: A discount prescription drug program available to families without prescription drug coverage or those that are under-insured. There are no age restrictions, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use it, no waiting to get a card, and the cards are free.
