United Way to Celebrate 2016 Successes at Annual Meeting

(Jefferson City, MO, January 25, 2017)  The United Way of Central Missouri will celebrate its successes of 2016 and officially begin the new year at its Annual Meeting on Friday, February 3.  The meeting will be held at 11:30 AM at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.  United Way is grateful to the event sponsor, KOMU-TV8.

During the meeting, elections for United Way’s Governing Body and Board of Directors will be held.  Several awards will also be presented during the meeting; including the Live United Award, awarded to a United Way volunteer for his/her outstanding service; the Linda E. McAnany Volunteer of the Year Award, awarded to a member agency volunteer for his/her incredible efforts; and the Ruth C. Meloy Award, an award presented to a paid staff member of one of the 25 member agencies whose work and dedication exemplifies the mission of the United Way of Central Missouri. The William W. Quigg Awards, awarded to businesses for their outstanding efforts during the Community Campaign, the 2016 Outstanding Campaign Coordinator Award and the Outstanding Pacesetters Awards will also be presented.  In addition, the 2017 Community Campaign Co-Chairs will be announced.

The event is open to the public.  Tickets are $15 each and will not be available at the door.  The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, January 27, 2017.  Tickets can be purchased at the United Way office located at 205 Alameda Drive during regular business hours, ordered over the phone at 573-636-4100, or can be purchased online at UnitedWaycemo.org.  For questions or more information, please call 573-636-4100.
