United Way Celebrates Record-Breaking Campaign Results at Victory Celebration

United Way of Central Missouri announces record-breaking Campaign results at its 2017 Victory Celebration.

(Jefferson City, MO, November 2, 2017) The United Way of Central Missouri marked the end of its formal fundraising campaign at a Victory Celebration held at Missouri Farm Bureau on Thursday morning. Prior to announcing the campaign results, organizers stressed that the total amount raised contains projections as donations continue to arrive at the United Way office over the coming weeks and months.

This year’s campaign goal was $1.875 million and the projected pledge total of the 2017 Community Campaign is $2,073,865. “We have an incredible community that has come together as a support network. Our community was able to not only meet our goal, but surpass it by just under $200,000,” said Jayne Dunkmann, 2017 Campaign Co-Chair. “Year after year the United Way has seen unbelievable growth in the campaigns of our long-standing supporters, as well as the new businesses and individuals that have joined the United Way family.”

“These are projected totals,” added Ryan Freeman, 2017 Campaign Co-Chair. “Our final number includes projections from several campaigns that are still ongoing—and a few that haven’t even started yet; and we can only reach these results with the successful completion of these campaigns. We’re counting on those who are still running campaigns to finish strong so we can meet this projected total.”

“I am humbled by the incredible outpouring of support for the United Way and our community. We are grateful that our community understands that in truly great communities people take care of each other, because no one is going to do this important work for us,” said United Way of Central Missouri President/CPO, Ann Bax. “I am so proud to be part of this great community. This projected campaign total means United Way will have the capacity to continue our mission to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community!”

Money raised during the Community Campaign funds the work of the 28 United Way of Central Missouri partner agencies. Funds stay in the mid-Missouri community to help individuals in the United Way of Central Missouri service area: Cole, Miller, Moniteau, Osage, southern Callaway, Morgan and Camden counties.
